R’JEAN
My name is Arjan van Nieuwkoop, a conceptual photographer who works under the name of R’JEAN.
The name R’JEAN was created in the year 2000 by a friend in Paris. He could not pronounce “Arjan” properly. Then I said as a joke; call me “Arjean” (Jean is Jan after all). Afterwards it was shortened to R’JEAN.
Art
Creating art is a passion of mine. I started to photograph in 2010 when I joined social media. I used my family and myself as a subject to create funny pictures in the themes of holidays throughout the year (like Easter, Halloween, Christmas). Later, I started to make portraits which are not common and people want to keep looking at. That is what I want to achieve over and over. I like to translate a concept into a work of art and inspiration for that can be anywhere.
I have my studio at home, but I also travel for assignments. Please feel free to contact me to talk about a possible cooperation for an upcoming project.
